Meet Dave Millin…
How long have you worked at Watts Urethane?
I’ve worked at Watts 30 years this year and what I really enjoy about the job is the variety. No two days are the same so you never know what to expect. It’s a very varied job, you don’t do the same thing from one day to the next.
What is your role at Watts and how has your job changed over the years?
I initially started working here part time grinding the ends of rubber bullets to length, then I moved to goods inwards and then on up through various roles and today I’m now Quality Co-ordinator. It’s my responsibility to ensure our customers products are up to a high standard before they leave us.
What do you like most about your job?
Alongside the vast range of products I could be working on from day to day, I enjoy the challenge of meeting deadlines and of course the people I work with. We’ve got a really good team here at Watts and their collective knowledge of Polyurethane is second to none.
What do you like about living and working in the Forest of Dean?
Living and working in the Forest of Dean is a really lovely way of life. Obviously, it’s not a city so you’ve got lots of green space, plenty of things to do. Outside of work I tend to watch and support local football, rugby and taking in the whole environment. Working for a company that supports the community in the way that Watts do is a real pleasure. The Watts Group and family have been a big part of Lydney for decades and I’m proud to be a part of that.
